RELEASE OF THE WEEK

An American Werewolf in London Universal 45th Anniversary 4K disc art

An American Werewolf in London (1981) | Universal Pictures | 4K UHD | $24.96

The greatest werewolf film ever made gets its first wide US retail 4K release the week before Halloween. Universal used the same 4K master Arrow produced for their 2022 limited edition (confirmed: blu-ray.com forum pages 27-34, August 2026). New Dolby Atmos mix added. Dolby Vision and HDR10 present.

Arrow owners need one piece of information: Universal dropped the original English DTS-HD mono track. Arrow included it. Arrow's exclusive new supplements are also absent. Universal carries legacy featurettes only.

Verdict: First-time 4K buyer, buy at $24.96. Arrow LE owner, hold unless Dolby Atmos is a genuine priority.

Buy: Amazon ($24.96) | Steelbook ($29.96)
